A trip to Western Estonia offers a blend of rich history, charming coastal landscapes, and vibrant culture, with the towns of Pärnu and Viljandi as highlights of the journey. Known as Estonia's "summer capital," Pärnu is famous for its sandy beaches, soothing spas, and lively boardwalk, attracting visitors who come to relax by the Baltic Sea and explore the town’s impressive historical architecture, parks, and art galleries. Viljandi, on the other hand, is a town steeped in medieval history and renowned for its strong folk culture. Set beside the picturesque Viljandi Lake and framed by the ruins of a 13th-century castle, Viljandi charms visitors with its narrow streets, wooden houses, and annual folk music festival, one of the largest in the Baltic region.

Together, Pärnu and Viljandi showcase the diversity and beauty of Western Estonia, offering travelers a chance to unwind in tranquil nature, experience Estonia's traditional culture, and discover the heart of the country’s historic towns. Whether exploring coastal boardwalks, relaxing in spa resorts, or wandering through castle ruins, a journey through Western Estonia is an invitation to experience the soul of this unique northern European country.
