Paldiski Local History Museum
Paldiski's Local History Museum is located in the historic Peetri Customs House, offering an exciting insight into the city's past. The museum's collections include nearly 200 enlarged photographs from the early 20th century, showcasing the changes in local life and cityscape over time. Visitors can also explore books, maps, and documents related to Paldiski's past, as well as a rare songbook from 1939–1941, both in original and digital form. The permanent exhibition "Historical Weapons from Around the World" displays around 150 items, providing an overview of the development of weapons throughout history.
The museum is perfect for anyone who wants to understand Paldiski's history and enjoy the charm of old objects and stories. The historic customs house itself is also worth seeing – the building with its impressive architecture is a reminder of Paldiski's significance as a former port and garrison town. The same building houses a tavern offering Russian and Slavic dishes – an ideal place to refresh after visiting the museum.
