Explore East Saaremaa's nature and history with a guide
Discover East Saaremaa, where peaceful island life, exciting history, and beautiful natural landscapes create a memorable day.
The journey begins after disembarking from the ferry, when we drive through Muhu Island towards Saaremaa. If desired, we take a photo stop at Väinatamm and also at the unique Ö/Õ monument, which symbolizes the islanders' linguistic identity.
Next, we pass the famous Orissaare oak, which grows in a school stadium and was awarded the title of European Tree of the Year in 2015. The tour continues on to the Maasi Order Castle ruins and its ancient perforated cult stone.
The journey also leads us to the powerful medieval St. Mary's Church in Pöide, considered one of the oldest churches in Estonia.
Nature lovers will enjoy the walk through the enchanting Koigi Bog. A boardwalk circles around the bog lake, where, if desired, you can take a refreshing swim. The observation tower offers stunning views of the bog.
We complete the approximately 5 km bog hike, then have a meal at Tornimäe Café before returning to the ferry or your accommodation.
If needed, we can arrange transportation and catering.
