Valga Hot Shorts Short Film Festival

Valga Hot Shorts, or VHS, is a summer short film festival held at the Valga Cultural Center, originating from a desire to focus on short films as a distinct form of cinematic art.

On one weekend in July, the city of Valga is filled with film enthusiasts and the best short films from Estonia, Latvia, and other parts of the world.

Each year, we tell a story with our festival, using feature films, documentaries, and animated films, allowing ourselves genre freedom. This way, we offer our audience the experience of watching films together in the cinema and later sharing thoughts in the open-air area in front of the Cultural Center.

In addition to the main program, the festival offers numerous special programs and various events in the Valga-Valka urban space.

Films are screened at the Valga Cultural Center, and, in addition to the cinema hall “Säde,” the center also welcomes film lovers with a bar, foyer, and summer courtyard. Film screenings have subtitles in Estonian and English.
