Väätsa hiking trail — a peaceful loop through the bog in Central Estonia!
The Väätsa Hiking Trail in Järvamaa invites you to explore the diverse beauty of nature. The 3 km-long circular trail begins and ends at the same location, making it convenient and safe to traverse at your own pace without worrying about getting lost.
The start of the trail is marked with an information board. The trail itself runs through Väätsa Nature Reserve, where bog forests and transitional wetlands alternate, revealing new views and exciting landscapes with every step. The journey also passes through the historic Paide–Tallinn winter road, reminding visitors of the ancient pathways through this area.
The trail alternates between a boardwalk and a natural forest path, offering comfortable, varied movement. If you are attentive, you might notice animal tracks or hear the forest inhabitants at work.
