Tour of Toompea Castle, the Parliament of the Republic of Estonia
Toompea Castle is a symbol of Estonian history and statehood, located on the high Toompea Hill in Tallinn's Old Town. The castle has been the center of Estonian power for over 800 years, and today it is home to the 101-member parliament of the Republic of Estonia, the Riigikogu.
The castle complex combines medieval fortifications, Baroque additions, and early 20th-century parliament buildings, making it a unique architectural mosaic. The castle can be viewed from a distance on a daily basis, but the building can only be seen from the inside with a pre-booked tour. During the tour, you can visit the castle's only open space, the White Hall, see the session hall, and get an overview of the work of the Riigikogu.
