Tallinn Toompark
Toompark is a peaceful and beautiful green area on the edge of Tallinn's Old Town, right at the foot of Toompea Castle and Pikk Hermann Tower. The park, established on the site of the former moat, with its pond, bridges, and winding walking paths, offers tranquility and greenery amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. The former fortification area has now become a popular place for relaxation and walking, where you can exercise, meet friends, or enjoy nature.
On the shore of the pond stands the memorial statue of Estonian statesman Jaan Tõnisson, which reminds us of the National Awakening and the spirit of freedom. In summer, Toompark is filled with birdsong and blooming plants, while in winter, it offers snowy views of the Old Town's towers. The Patkuli staircase, starting from the edge of Toompark, leads up to Toompea and the Patkuli viewing platform, from where you can see the park, the red roofs of the Old Town, and Tallinn Bay.
Nearby the park are Balti Jaam, Telliskivi Creative City, and the streets of the Old Town, making Toompark an ideal place for a walk or a break.
