Tallinn Song Festival Grounds
Tallinn's Song Festival Grounds are a symbol of Estonian national pride and host the iconic song celebrations and outdoor concerts. The Song Festival Grounds can accommodate nearly 15,000 singers and up to 100,000 spectators!
The Song Festival Grounds, listed as a cultural monument in Estonia, were completed in 1960 and are one of the most outstanding examples of Soviet-era architecture in Estonia. The unique arched structure ensures natural-sounding, powerful acoustics.
The main event held at the Song Festival Grounds is the large national Song Celebration, which has earned a place on UNESCO's List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Every five years, this place is filled with tens of thousands of singers and a hundred thousand spectators. The Song Celebration holds special meaning for Estonians, as it is a symbol of national heritage and a living tradition that unites generations.
The Song Festival Grounds is surrounded by a park that is open for walking and sports. By booking in advance, you can visit the visitor center and climb the 42-meter-high lighthouse, which offers a view of Tallinn's Old Town and the sea.
