Tädu Nature Trail

Tädu Nature Trail on the Viimsi peninsula takes you into the diverse forest of the Mäealuse landscape protection area, where you can see several faces of Estonian nature during a short walk. The 3.1-kilometer circular trail is suitable for a leisurely exploration with family, friends, or a nature-loving travel companion. On the trail, you can get acquainted with the local forest inhabitants, plants, and natural phenomena, and notice details that make Viimsi's forests special.

One of the most unique sights of the Tädu trail is the spruces growing directly on boulders. These trees rooted on rocks tell the story of Estonia's post-glacial landscape and nature's perseverance. In summer and autumn, berries and mushrooms add to the experience – blueberries, lingonberries, raspberries, and a wide variety of mushrooms grow here.

The trail is marked with green signs on trees, and it takes about 1.5 hours to complete at a leisurely pace. Near the end of the trail, a campfire site awaits, where you can have a picnic. Tädu Nature Trail is conveniently accessible by public transport.
