Seto Studio-Gallery
A permanent exhibition of older and contemporary Seto art and folk art is on display in the Hal´as Kunn Art Gallery, in the house built by a Seto merchant Ivan Kalju and his family in the 1930s. The authors include Renaldo Veeber, Lembit Kiisson, Toomas Kuusing, Evar Riitsaar and others.
The gallery house has a studio making historic Seto jewelry and a workshop for block and silk screen printing. Tapestries and textiles decorated with Seto patterns are also made there. Block printing workshops can be organised, if arranged in advance.
An exhibition sale of arts and crafts is open in the historic shop.
Obinitsa village is one of the 21 places in Southern Estonia worth discovering that are marked by a yellow National Geographic window; all those interested in culture and history should definitely pay a visit.
