Reomäe Monastery

Reomäe Monastery is a special spiritual place where Orthodox tradition, silence, and Saaremaa's peaceful nature create a deeply moving experience. The monastery is located in Reo village on the island of Saaremaa, ten kilometers from Kuressaare towards Kuivastu Harbor.

It is the only traditional communal living convent of the Estonian Apostolic Orthodox Church. The sisters are happy to introduce the chapel in the main building of the church and monastery, share the building's history, and offer snacks. Honey produced in the monastery's own courtyard is sold, and products from a monastery in Greece can be purchased from the small shop.

The main church, built in 1873, is dedicated to the memory of the holy apostle Andrew. The church's iconostasis and some other items are under heritage protection.

To visit the monastery, please ring the doorbell of the main building. For group visits, please make a reservation in advance.

Reomäe Monastery is open to all to whom the heart calls to visit.
