Rauna observation tower and resting place

The Rauna observation tower in the Viidumäe Nature Reserve allows you to experience Saaremaa's nature in its most authentic form. The tower is located on Raunamäe, the highest and oldest area of Saaremaa, where the landscape has been shaped over millennia since the Ice Age.

Viidumäe is known for its diverse nature, rich biodiversity, and peaceful atmosphere. The observation tower looks out on Saaremaa's most forested area and the western coast, and on a clear day, you can even spot Vilsandi Island. It is an ideal stop for those who appreciate silence, pure nature, and beautiful views. Rauna observation tower is well-suited for nature enthusiasts, hikers, and families who wish to explore Saaremaa's landscape. Viidumäe Nature Reserve enchants with its primeval appearance, high places, and green tranquility, offering a different experience in every season.

The observation tower is 26 meters high, and to reach the top, you need to climb 80 steps.
While you're there, you can explore Viidumäe's hiking trails, where you can learn about different plants.
