Pikakari beach, on the Paljassaare peninsula in northern Tallinn, is located near the Katariina pier that was constructed as a part of a battery of the Peter the Great sea fortress. The beach has changing cabins, a volleyball court, swings, a children's playground, benches, a boardwalk, trash bins, and outdoor toilets. Life guards are on duty between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. from June until August.

The sea becomes deep fast at this sandy beach and there is a stony bottom in the first few metres only. Waves created by passing passenger ships add excitement.

The beach has been awarded a Blue Flag.
Nearby, you will find the Paljassaare nature reserve and a nature trail.
