Paul Kuimet & Magnhild Øen Nordahl duo exhibition "Dismantled View"
At Kai Art Center in Tallinn, an exhibition curated by Anthea Buys titled “Disassembled View” is open. The exhibition features Estonian artist Paul Kuimet and Norwegian artist Magnhild Øen Nordahl.
The title “Disassembled View” refers to a technical drawing method where an object is depicted in such a way that all its parts are visible. Both artists follow the logic of a disassembled view: to understand how something holds together, it must first be taken apart.
Kuimet's new 16mm film “Technique” (2026) premieres at the exhibition, based on architect Tiina Soans' hand-drawn architectural plans. The film is accompanied by an autofictional letter reflecting on profession, skill, and the passage of time. The photo series “Suite” expands the film's logic into large-format static works.
Øen Nordahl's sculptures are based on digital models translated into material form. Her works reveal the hidden structures of objects through 3D modeling.
