Onion Route Buffet Day

The Onion Route Buffet Day invites you to discover the authentic flavors and stories of Peipsimaa.

On one autumn day, dozens of home gardens and yards along Lake Peipsi open their gates, offering guests homemade dishes, local delicacies, and a warm welcome. This is not an ordinary food festival – it is a journey into living heritage, where the traditions of Old Believers and local Estonians meet modern hospitality.

The menu includes mushroom and onion soups, as well as dishes made from pumpkins, tomatoes, and apples. For fish lovers, there are smoked fish, vobla soup, fish shashlik, and a variety of fish dishes. Additionally, dishes made from game meat will be available, and a chicory buffet will be opened, reflecting the region's historical culinary traditions. During the day, the best onion pie and onion jam master will be revealed.

Live music will be playing, and there will be workshops and meetings with locals who are happy to share stories about their home region.
