Kicksled tours in Kõrvemaa

Our Kõrvemaa kicksled tour takes you on the winter trails of Aegviidu and Nelijärve, where lakes, eskers, and ancient forests create a relaxing yet interesting adventure. The hike begins at the Nikerjärve RMK campfire site or Aegviidu railway station, so you can arrive by train if desired.

Before setting off, the guide shares riding tips and helps you get accustomed to the sled; then the journey continues along snowy forest paths, over the hills of Uueveski heath, and around the Jänijõe area, where you can spot animal tracks, woodpecker trees, and signs of beaver activity. The route includes ascents, descents, and views of the mosaic of lakes typical of Kõrvemaa.

The pace is calm and suitable for beginners. The hike lasts about 2–3 hours and is 5–6 km long. Children aged 6 and older are welcome to participate, and families are offered sleds with seats. The hike can be concluded by the campfire at the Forest Restaurant, where you can savor special foods.
