Jussi Nature Trail

The 8-km-long Jussi Nature Trail in the Põhja-Kõrvemaa Nature Reserve runs through a variety of landscapes.

The circular trail follows the ridges by the Jussi lakes, passes through different forest types, and offers views of six lakes. The hike's special destination is Jussi heath, a unique natural environment formed after repeated fires caused by Soviet army activity. The open landscape differs from the usual Estonian forest trail and adds an exciting historical dimension to the hike.

The trail is marked with yellow signs and starts and ends at the Koersilla parking lot. Nine points of interest help you learn about the surroundings, and boardwalks and bridges let you cross wetter areas. Given the varying terrain, ascents, and descents, choose appropriate footwear and bring drinking water. For longer stays, camping and picnic spots line the trail.

Protect the reserve, stay on the trail, and take your trash with you!
