Exhibition: "Famous sea voyages: The broadening horizons of Europeans"
This major exhibition at the Seaplane Harbour Museum invites you on a journey of discovery to the era when the great powers of Europe tried to discover the last "blank spots" on the globe.
The exhibition highlights the expansion of the geographical worldview of the 18th and 19th centuries, which was driven by the development of technology and science. Historical artifacts from several European museums are on display, including Krusenstern’s chronometer and a renovated French ship model.
Visitors can try climbing a ship’s mast and experience the life of a sailor. A ship rat trail has been created for younger explorers. Come and set sail for the unknown sea!
