Exhibition "Anna-Stina Treumund: How to Recognise a Lesbian?"
Anna-Stina Treumund (1982–2017) was the first in Estonia to openly identify as a lesbian artist. In her work, Treumund explored her search for identity as a member of the LGBTQ community and broader issues related to gender and sexuality in the context of post-Soviet society, where expectations for women put them in narrow frames in which Treumund did not feel comfortable.
As her largest solo exhibition to date, this exhibition will engage with Treumund's works, artists who influenced her, and young artists who continue queer feminist exploration in the field of contemporary art.
