Tartu Town Hall Square
Tartu's most important market square in the 18th century, the current Town Hall Square, is a favorite meeting place for Tartu residents. During summer, outdoor cafes fill with pleasant chatter; a magical Christmas city opens up in winter. Festivals, fairs, sports competitions, and more take place on the square.
Classicist buildings line the square, and in the middle, you will also find one of Tartu's most famous attractions — a fountain with a statue of kissing students. The National Geographic window here represents Tartu as one of the places worth discovering in South Estonia.
The carillon of 34 bells in the Town Hall tower is the oldest and largest in Estonia and plays for different seasons and holidays!
