Vana-Pärnu birdwatching tower

Discover the calmer side of Pärnu's nature! In the Vana-Pärnu coastal meadow, where the river meets the sea, stands an 8.4-meter birdwatching tower. From the top, you can enjoy beautiful views of Pärnu Bay, the river mouth, the coastal meadow, and the city's two historic stone jetties. In different seasons, you can see over 100 bird species here! In spring, you can observe flocks of barnacle geese resting on the coastal meadow.

You can leave your car at the Vana-Pärnu Beach parking lot, from where a path about 500 meters long leads to the tower. In wet weather, the path may be damp. From the tower, you can continue your walk to one of Pärnu's two jetties and enjoy expansive sea views. In summer, the famous Pärnu city cows graze peacefully on the meadow.

The official Vana-Pärnu Beach area between the tower and the parking lot has changing cabins, toilets, benches, and trash bins.

Good to know! You can visit the beach and the tower with a dog, but keep your pet on a leash and follow the local signage.
