Artist Jaanus Samma has been interested in the construction of national identity for a long time. In this exhibition, based on his personal material and material selected from the collections of Estonian museums, he has created eleven thematic compositions that examine the use of national patterns and images in Estonian applied art and graphics from the 1930s to the 1950s. Samma is mainly interested in the connection between national iconography and power and the shaping of Estonians' self-image through this iconography.

Samma himself is the curator of the exhibition.
