Exhibition: "Kullakördi kudujad: Traditional folk costumes of Pärnu County"
Parish clothing became a national symbol alongside the blue-black-and-white flag in the 20th century. Thanks to the tradition of song and dance festivals, it has found a firm place in Estonians' hearts. Now, before another big festival, it is time to examine our ancestors' precious treasures and the clothing made in their image.
The Pärnu Museum exhibition “Kullakördi kudujad” covers both the historical and later annexed regions of Pärnu County. The clothing items preserved in the museum’s ethnographic collection, complete sets made today, and some folk costumes designed for Pärnu choirs are on display.
