Guided tour of the Mustjõe Tavern barn

The history of the Estonian barn begins with a smokehouse from several thousand years ago, which gradually became the dwelling of Estonians and remained the most important building on the farm until the beginning of the 20th century. The house, with its awe-inspiring dimensions, was one of the largest country houses in Europe.

On a guided tour through the farm, we see the barn and discuss in more detail how people lived in the barn, how light was brought into the house, where the smoke went, and how the house stayed warm. You can enter the old barn and experience the ancient way of life with your own hands.
